Allow me to introduce you to the concept of the rest that #youdeserve 😴 ⁠
⁠
Y’all know our friends over at the @thenapministry sing the praises of rest for PoC and teach us that we need NOT pride ourselves on the "busy-ness" of life. ⁠
⁠
You know what this is.  Like when we boast “Girl, I've been hustling" or "Bruh, coffee ☕️ is keeping me going right now." ⁠
⁠
But in my role as a psychologist and advocate for #optimalmentalhealth, I want to say to you that REST IS GOOD!
⁠
Because research tells us that:
⁠
1️⃣ When you are well-rested at night, your memory is sharper during the day.⁠
⁠
2️⃣ You give yourself space to carefully think things through and make sound  choices.⁠
⁠
3️⃣ Poor sleep can exacerbate mental health concerns like anxiety and depression.
⁠
So my loves, I hope that I have given you some food for thought and encouraged you to focus more on rest. ⁠
⁠
Now tell me, many hours of sleep per night 🌙 do you need to feel great the next day ☀️ ? 6 hours? 8hours? ⁠
